One of the growing trends with shorter hair is to have very long layers throughout.  This creates a sultry sort of look that is very popular today.

Side swept bangs are also a great addition to any haircut, especially the shorter lengths.  Longer side swept bangs also create a mysterious sort of look with the eye area being partially covered with hair.

Although you can't wear your hair in a ponytail when it is this short, there are some styling options that you can try out for different looks.

One styling option is to apply some pomade or wax to the ends of the hair and layers to create a piecy sort of look.  This coulc be your edgy look.

For a more polished, business look, you can wear hair completely smooth and silky shiny.  Maybe part the hair on one side and have all layers stick straight and smooth.  This lends itself to a very professional looking cut.
